Well I still looking for work and i still got now where. I late on 2 bills now as well because the Army has still not paid me. Thing is they said it take 28 days for me to have payment and to have my refference and P45 etc. Now i going to phone them up this afternoon and ask who can i talk to in Glasgow because its not fair i waiting for this. Its making me hurt because i get on my feet. Also i have no job and there going to be a court action in a min if i can get this sorted.

I really suprised how hard it is to get a fecking job. Even with Class 2 and i not sure how this going to look. I going to see some people about sorting my finace out with Credit cards and loan out. I calling and sending CV and everything but not getting any where. In total 23 jobs did not want to take me. Main reason is lack of Experiance and that pissing me off. Also because the Army not sent me anything i finding it hard to get a job because i dont have all my details like P45 to Refferance. I need that so they can look there and then. Atm all i can do is Give my CV with refferance (address) on it. So there more likly going to take someone else who has all the inf o etc. Grrrrr i pissed now.

Anyhow other i having a hard time. I been trying to keep on top of stories of Microsoft losing profit and not doing well. Xbox 360 taking losses and there losing the grip of the market. On the data Mac and other OS slowly taking hold of the market. Hell EVE-Online are now working on MAC and Linux client. I say again DO NOT BUY Windows Vista because there some programs that clain you need vista to run it may fall on there face. BEcause it's not true.

Firstly, DS has a very good point- its no surprise to anyone here that MS are stinking rich. Its obvious. They have a 90% share of the desktop computing market, and have fingers in every single electronic pie going. If anyone here is surprised that MS have a high income, they deserve that scene from Clockwork Orange (you know the one), only with CNN instead of snuff.

MS are, by all accounts (except their own) doing worse now than they have ever in recent years.

Take a look at Vista sales. They claim that Vista is selling somewhere in the region of 50% better than XP did on release. Bully for them. But if you pay attention to ALL the statistics, you realise the bigger picture. For example, in the last 6 years (since XP was released), the desktop computer market DOUBLED. That is to say, there are twice as manyh actively used desktop PCs now than there were when XP was released. Their sales SHOULD be 100% higher than 6 years ago, but they're not; they're 50% or so higher. This means they're doing 50% worse than they should be doing- they're doing half as well as they were with XP.

As already mentioned, their XBox is also making a loss. Their iPod competitor (Zune?) isn't doing aswell as you'd expect, either. And Windows Server is a positive failure compared to Linux (which holds some 80% of the server market share).

So, someone says their profits have gone up 60%. But who's to say if it should have gone up far far more in that time, due tot he rapidly expanding nature of the computing industry? Not me, thats for sure. Not anyone here. Its one of those elusively over-complicated matters that all but a trained economist would be talking out of their arse about.

All we CAN say is what the pie charts look like. Both Linux and Apple are (SLOWLY) getting a larger share of the desktop market. People are gradually moving away from IE. Apple is once again a house-hold name (thanks to iPod). Whichever way you look at it, the computing industry is a much different place than it was a decade ago.

And if Microsoft do "die", it certainly won't be immediately apparent. Any idea how long it'd take an oil tanker to drift to a halt after it's engine had blown up?
